Food security and livelihoods

This approach means that the economic and social context in the wider sense needs to be taken into account, as well as the ability of households to be able to plan for, cope with and overcome future shocks.  The search for long-term solutions in the fight against hunger and under-nutrition is at the very heart of ACF’s actions.  By introducing a wide range of actions such as assessments and monitoring, farming-forestry-grazing programmes, monetary action and food aid as well as actions promoting economic re-launch and access to the marketplace for those most at risk, we are helping individuals in difficult situations to cope with emergencies and to recover their autonomy in the long term.
